IFA2 Interconnector Project Insurance

This contract notice is for the insurance policies required for the IFA2 Interconnector project. This will comprise of Construction All Risks including terrorism, Delay in Start Up Insurance, Third Party Liability Insurance, Environmental Impairment Liability Insurance and any others that may be required for the project.
The IFA2 Interconnector is a 1000MW, 400kV HVDC link from Chilling in Hampshire, to Tourbe in Normandy. The link is planned to become operational during 2020 and the total length of the link will be ~240km. The project also comprises two converter stations which are based on VSC technology.
The project will be developed by National Grid and Réseau de Transport d'Electricité (RTE), who will each own 50 percent. National Grid is a major UK company which owns and manages gas and electricity infrastructure in the UK and in the northeastern US. RTE is the electricity transmission system owner and operator in France.

and RTE no contract (s) will be concluded until the expiry of a minimum 11 day standstill period after
the award decision has been communicated to tenderers as required by regulation 33 of the UCR 2006. French
review procedures will not apply to any contract awards made pursuant to this procurement process. The
UCR 2006 provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules
To take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) and the High Court will have exclusive
jurisdiction in respect of any challenge to this procurement process.
