This consultation concerns the realization of a market and feasibility study on an access to finance programme dedicated to supporting private agriculture and rural populations in South Africa through local financial institutions. The objective of the mission will be to produce first a market study followed, if relevant, by a feasibility study (together, referred to as the "Study") so as to:
(i) determine potential needs in terms of access to financing in the agriculture sector and rural areas in South Africa and, as the case may be;
(ii) provide recommendations on the objectives, scope and structure of a project by AFD (the "Project") dedicated to support small-scale farmers, their organisations/cooperatives as well as micro, small and medium enterprises in the agricultural sector and rural areas that have limited access to financial services (the "Target Groups"). A specific focus will be placed on the needs of emerging farmers and on potential solutions to support them.
