RTE intends to launch a call for bid for HVDC VSC onshore converter stations and offshore substations part of 1.2 GW HVDC links at DC operating voltage 320 kV and 2 GW HVDC links at DC operating voltage 525 kV connecting Offshore Wind Farms (OWFs) to the French grid.

2022-11-24HVDC converter stations for offshore wind farm connection projects - Centre Manche 1 & Centre Manche 2 (RTE réseau de transport d'électricité)
The French Government will award 2 projects that aim at developing and building offshore wind farms in the Channel, AO4 with a maximum power up to 1,05 GW and AO8 with a maximum power up to 1,5 GW. RTE will be in charge of the development, construction and operation of the 2 grid connexions, Centre Manche 1&2, with a maximum power of 1,25 GW each, using 320 kV HVDC technology. 2022-11-15Dunkerque Offshore Wind Farm Connection to the Grid - Offshore Substation (RTE - Réseau Transport Electricité)
Within the framework of the AO3 (French government Tender for offshore wind farm No 3) project which consists in developing a wind farm off Dunkerque, RTE is in charge of the connection to the grid. This includes the necessary high voltage offshore substation as part of RTE's scope, procurement of which is the purpose of the present contract notice.
