Studies to estimate the residual life cycle of the Tourist Shuttle Carrier Wagons

Eurotunnel is a partnership between the 2 Companies France Manche and The Channel Tunnel Group

On the basis of the original calculation notes and vehicle drawings, the mission consists of the realisation of a complete study to provide a forecast of the residual life cycle of the Tourist Shuttle Carrier Wagons.
Objective: Determine the date limit for the Operational Service life of the Tourist Shuttle Carrier Wagons.
— Identification of the main zones and critical elements potentially affecting the global resistance of the frame structure,
— Characterisation of the existing disorders and analysis of future risks,
— Definition of the actual aging process and deterioration,
— Determination of the life cycle of identified areas, systems and elements,
— Determination of the impact on the life cycle of these various areas / systems / elements after the implementation of a Midlife overhaul / repair,
— Proposal of "modus operandi" of the Overhaul / Repair process,
— Assessment of economic viability according to the types and timescales of the proposed repairs, unit costs etc,
— Establishment of a procedure for implementation which will monitor the wagons to the end of their operational service life.
This study concerns:
— the simple deck carrier (SDC),
— the double deck carrier (DDCA),
— the double deck carrier (DDCS) with toilet and staircase.

— References for each activity (lot) in terms of client, description, location, value.
