Study, manufacturing and installation on site of a complete new reactive power compensation and phases balancer system connected to the catenary network.
2 systems will be used in 2 different configurations:
— reactive power compensation
— phases balancer
The supplier will have to base the technical offer on the technical information provided by EUROTUNEL about the catenary network.
Voltage: 25 kV AC.
The equipment will be installed in the perimeter of the main intake substation of the UK Terminal (Folkestone).
The load to be compensated can reach 100 MVAR on each phase.
The system can be operated in the 2 different functions depending of the configuration of the network:
— reactive compensation system
OR
— phases balancer system
The supplier will have to provide detailed studies which demonstrate that the new system does fully meet the requirements and specifications.
Those studies will have to demonstrate that the new system does not generate any general problem of stability on the network.
